About Royal Hall Restoration Trust

The Trust was formed in 2001 to raise funds towards the restoration of the Royal Hall in Harrogate. It contributed over £2.7 million which ensured the success of the major project undertaken between 2006 and 2008 to restore the building to its former glory. Following the re-opening of the Royal Hall in April 2008, the Trust has contributed over £150,000 to carry out further improvements that were omitted from the major project on grounds of cost or timescale. These additional works included the provision of new ‘star’ dressing rooms; acoustic improvements to the stage, and further development of the Heritage Lounge. Currently the Trust is fundraising in order to improve and enhance the lighting of the caryatids, ambulatories and facade of the Royal Hall. Today the RHRT has a team of stewards and volunteers who help run regular open days and guided tours.
