RPCV Ventures is a Venture Capital firm investing in businesses making transformational social impacts - with a focus on start-ups founded by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) and Military Veterans. The firm was founded in 2022 by Mike Bailkin and Glenn Blumhorst, both RPCVs. Mike is also a Veteran, the former Economic Development Director for New York City and co-founder and Managing Partner of Stadtmauer Bailkin, which, until its merger into Akerman LP, was the leading law firm nationally specializing in economic development. Glenn was the National Peace Corps Association’s CEO for 9 years and is the current CEO of the Peace Corps Commemorative project. The firm’s thesis is simple, yet compelling: while serving abroad, Peace Corps Volunteers and Military Veterans overcame vast language, culture, and operational challenges to successfully build projects in resource-restrictive communities; imagine what these entrepreneurs could achieve with substantial funding here at home.
