About Risk Society and Policy Research Center
The Risk Society and Policy Research Center (RSPRC) is Taiwan’s foremost research center and think tank researching sustainability, digitalization, climate change, energy transition, and the related risk and social issues. The RSPRC, under the National Taiwan University, has partnered with international research institutes carrying out research focusing on climate and energy policies and the post-COVID-19 sustainable development. The RSPRC is also the first research center in Taiwan dedicated to broadening and deepening academic research in risk society and policy research and bringing academics, practitioners, policymakers, and the public to conduct cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral exchanges via public forums. RSPRC’s core research include: 1. Mapping sustainable pathways for the energy transition in Taiwan 2. Identifying challenges and opportunities in greenhouse gas reduction in various sectors 3. Conducting cross-country comparative studies on climate and energy policies 4. Exploring sustainable digitalization and its social-technical transformation 5. Constructing the sustainable post-COVID-19 economy RSPRC has collaborated with research centers around the world, including the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) and Future Earth, Germany’s Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), and South Korea’s Chung-Ang University Humanities Research Institute. It is also an important partner agency of Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Academia Sinica and Taiwan Research Institute (TRI).
