About Real-Time COntrol and Optimization Laboratory (RT-COOL)
RT-COOL (Real Time COntrols and Optimization Laboratory) is the evolution of nearly 20 years of research in the field of controls, power engineering, and hardware in the loop. The focus of RT-COOL is to apply advanced controls and optimization concepts in conjunction with power electronic enablers to smart systems: maritime, terrestrial, and vehicular with the ultimate goal of validating high-fidelity models of systems and control in real-time via Controller Hardware in the Loop. Our talented team consists of faculty, post-doctoral researchers, PhD students, and undergraduate researchers producing excellent state-of-the-art research for the benefit of smart systems. In addition, we work with many partners internal to Clemson University as well as nationally and internationally.
