The natural rubber supply chain is complex and dynamic. Designed to tackle these challenges, RubberWay is a risk-mapping assessment solution specifically developed to identify the sustainability risks throughout the whole natural rubber upstream supply chain. It was designed for the natural rubber industry by the tire makers to empower actors all across the supply chain to enhance their natural rubber suppliers to report on the transparency of their supply chain. Based on a series of interviews responses to an environmental and social questionnaire carried out through a mobile app, RubberWay flags practices at risks for mitigation, for each key actors at each level of the upstream supply chain: smallholder, intermediaries, large plantations, and processing factories.
