Rubbintec addresses the enormous global tire waste problem and makes rubber sustainable by converting end of life tire rubber back into high quality virgin rubber that can then be used as a rubber substitute in a $41 billion market including footwear outsoles, tire retreads, automotive parts and many dozens of different rubber products. We also add waste plastic to the recovered virgin rubber, which creates a co-polymer or thermoplastic elastomer, which can be used as an asphalt "modifier" to extend the life of roads and roofing materials and which can be used in many other applications. How our Process Works: Most end of life tires are landfilled or incinerated for energy recovery. It is difficult to recycle and reuse rubber because rubber has been cured through the vulcanization process. Rubbintec efficiently reverses the vulcanization process process allowing us to recover high quality virgin rubber. Our competitive advantage is that our patented de-vulcanization technology selectively breaks sulfur bonds without damaging the rubber. This significant technological achievement enables the continuous upcycling and reuse of rubber waste, boosting the circular economy.
