About Ruidosa Alma Transperformative Collective

Ruidosa Alma is a platform for creation, production, and cultural mediation, founded in 2016, with the goal of promoting artistic experimentation and deconstructing artistic and social conventions. The collective’s mission is to value diversity and include dissident artists in its creative processes, developing projects that reflect on themes such as oppression, identity, and representation. Ruidosa Alma is responsible for high-impact cultural initiatives, such as the Ruídos Queer+ International Film Festival (FIRQ+), which has become an important event for LGBTQIAP+ filmmakers from over 70 countries. It is also behind Sonora Queer – Festival of Interpreters, dedicated to valuing LGBTQIA+ musical diversity, and the Brazil Profano National Film Showcase, which highlights independent and experimental filmmaking in Brazil. Another key project of the collective is the IRANRAN INA Artistic Residency, which fosters collaborations among artists from different regions of Brazil, and Transvocalizando, which uses music as an expressive tool for the trans community. In addition to these, the Ruídos Emergentes Showcase stands out as a milestone in the trajectory of Ruidosa Alma. Initially conceived as a showcase for experimental and avant-garde cinema, it won the Pelotense Culture Recognition Award, solidifying its role in the local cultural scene. The Showcase also served as the starting point for FIRQ+, the Ruídos Queer+ International Film Festival, which emerged as an expansion of the work initiated in Ruídos Emergentes, focusing on the visibility of LGBTQIAP+ productions in global cinema. Ruidosa Alma has received support from funding programs such as the Paulo Gustavo Law (via FCCR - São José dos Campos and SEDAC - Rio Grande do Sul) and the Aldir Blanc Law 2020 (Fundação Marcopolo), enabling its initiatives. Now with over R$ 1 million in projects approved under the Rouanet Law, we continue.
