Rumsans

Rumsans wants to inspire to working with universal design – the relatively new architectural term that embraces a diverse user group and the multifarious needs of humans. Rumsans is an online resource about universal design with the vision to inspire the industry to use universal design. We do that by presenting good examples of details, processes, solutions, or entire projects that in a good way have created a home, a cultural institution, or a school that are equally open to all. rumsans.dk shall become a meeting place for everything around universal design – from the early sketches are through until the finished construction is taken in use and becomes the foundation for good experiences. Based on research and the latest trends and perspectives, we present new knowledge and basic introductions to working with universal design, inclusion, and diversity. Rumsans is created by Department for the Built Environment, Aalborg University, who are responsible for the content on and development of the site. The site in its entirety is non-commercial. Rumsans is financed by public means.
