Runmaka VR went live September 2024.
Initially, our aim was to provide a batter training environment for cricketers, that had never previously been possible. This is in the form of a virtual reality app that can be downloaded onto Meta Quest 2 and 3 headsets.
As a cricket coach of over 40 years, I have always been acutely aware that facilities aren't always easy to come by and the costs associated can be high. Runmaka VR aims to provide a solution with a cost-effective app that allows players to train when they want to, where they want to. In essence, they would own their own indoor centre. #yourcenterofexcellence
We don't want to replace anything, rather, supplement everything. We fully support coaches and coaching and all manner of current practice formats and styles. We just believe that Runmaka VR can offer even further opportunities to help the player.
As we have evolved, we have realised that the scope to enhance the training experience is endless. In the same way that I have had to use my imagination as a coach to maximise my venue to support technical and tactical development, we can apply a huge variety of additional training tools to assist the player and their learning.
We are genuinely at the very beginning of our journey, but it's incredibly exciting. There is so much to do and the potential is limitless.
