S.H. Experiencing Intercultures

In today's globally-locally networked, fast-moving and digitalized world, intercultural encounters are a daily phenomenon that continually confronts us with situations of uncertainty and indeterminacy. Contrary to the long-held assumption that intercultural situations only occur when two or more national cultures meet, interculture arises precisely when we meet people who come from a different context than us and who predominantly do not have our understanding of normality, plausibility and norms and share structures. In order to be able to deal competently in and with such situations, it is important to understand culture as an interdependent interplay of structural and process dynamics, which is determined and constantly re-formed by the relational relationships of different actors. This means that there is a rethinking of former binary models and container stereotypes towards ambiguity, relationality and perspective reflexivity, which require a rethinking of culture. Related to this, the acquisition of intercultural skills requires an ideally balanced interplay of personal, technical, social and action skills, which start at the cognitive, practice-oriented, but also intrinsically motivated level in order to be able to make context-appropriate decisions self-reflectively. My intercultural training offers are based precisely on these challenges and help you to rethink (inter)culture depending on the training goal, format and context.
