Saahasee Ngo

SAAHASEE is a registered national NGO working for the development of the urban poor since the last two decades. We are actively engaged in participatory community development among a total slum population of close to 300,000 people. Presently, we work in the slum communities of Mumbai, Thane, Bhiwandi, Pune in Maharashtra and the resettlement colonies of Delhi. SAAHASEE focuses on the sustainable empowerment of Women and Children. Our approach is organizing communities through small groups of slum women in a structured manner. These women identify community problems and work together linking with various stakeholders to address them. We have achieved significant success through community based programs of thrift and credit, gender and health, education of children, skill development and reduction of vulnerability through Empowerment, Care and Support programs.
