“Better care makes better people.” Six students, twenty cups of coffee, a few laptops, and two sleepless nights. What started as an award-winning run at a collegiate hackathon has developed into a company eager to make a contribution to the mental health industry. Sabai Software is a startup company focused on the important goal of enriching and improving the mental health of people on both individual and societal levels. By providing practitioners with powerful analytic tools and creating a mobile platform that streamlines communication, we are looking to modernize the traditional “one-hour session." Relationships between practitioners and clients should be continuous and not restricted to only face-to-face encounters. It is axiomatic that achieving the desired goal requires joint cooperation. For that reason, Sabai Software is working on bringing various game mechanics to the platform in order to encourage clients’ participation and engagement. Whether it be daily logging or completing assigned tasks, the gamification of these interactions will motivate clients and ultimately lead to better outcomes.
