About Safarà Editore

Safarà Editore (www.safaraeditore.com) is an independent publishing house located in Pordenone, Italy, nearby Venice. Safarà Editore publishes Italian and foreign fiction and non-ficiton, as well as graphic novels. Established in 2007, after having consolidated its presence in the market with national authors in 2012 the publishing house undertook the publication of foreign literature and essays. In 2014 Safarà Editore published the first Italian edition of TWELVE YEARS AS SLAVE by Solomon Northup, enriched by the foreword of academy-winner director Steve McQueen, which has been recommended by national newspapers and television (Il Manifesto, RAI) as the most valuable Italian edition of the Work. In 2013 Safarà Editore launched a book series devoted to architecture and cognitive science, LA MANO CHE PENSA, whose leading author is the world wide known architect Juhani Pallasmaa. In 2015 Safarà Editore has launched its YA book series with Lauren Oliver's VANISHING GIRLS and PANIC, and ANIMALIA, devoted to the relationship in between human and non-human animals and its implications in environmental issues. Its first release has been NOI ANIMALI -WE ANIMALS by Canadian photojournalist Jo-Anne McArthur. The book series PICCOLI SAGGI is dedicated to the innovative pedagogical and philosophical project of filosofiacoibambini (www.filosofiacoibambini.net) created by educator and philosopher Carlo Maria Cirino, that is now current school program among several Italian elementary schools throughout the territory of Italy and Europe, to be soon presented in its English translation. Kaleidoscopic European Literature Safarà Editore has been selected among the winners of the EACEA – Creative Europe / Literary Translation Program (2015 - 2017), grants project of the EU that supports and finances high quality literary translations of European valuable books along with their circulation in the territory of the European Union.
