Safe Communities LLC was started specifically to develop the Safe Communities Vendor ID Program for gated and/or private communities. As security professionals we witnessed these communities erect walls/fences, install cameras/sensors, implement access control procedures for visitors/guests, hire security officers to patrol and then allow hundreds of vendors a day to enter their community without even a second thought. Although the majority of vendors are hard working, blue collar, upstanding citizens, not all of them fit this description. A percentage of vendors are criminals. Their crimes range from horrific sex offenses to petit theft. The Safe Communities Vendor ID program is designed to weed out the criminal element and only allow upstanding, hard working vendors in your community. Although, there are no guarantees, we are confident that everyone living within your community would like to avoid hiring a Registered Sex Offender or Serial Burglar/Thief. They key is being proactive and avowing these vendors as opposed to finding out after it is too late. In addition to the safety and security aspect of this program is the fact that it is FREE to the community. Once issued a card, the vendor is required to undergo criminal background checks every 12 months in order to keep the card. Don't rely on the vendors employer to check them every year, nearly any of them even conduct a criminal background check when they hire them. The Safe Communities Vendor ID program will soon become the standard for all gated / private communities. For those communities who fail to see the value and do not implement this program, your property will be where the vendors with criminals history will come to work every day. DON'T BE THAT COMMUNITY!!!!
