Safe Haven

Safe Haven is a non-governmental organization that is committed to providing psychological support to survivors of sexual abuse and exploitation. The organization has a profound understanding of the impact of sexual violence and aims to create a safe space for survivors to heal and regain control of their lives. Sexual abuse, including violence, exploitation, and harassment, is a global issue that has become increasingly prevalent in Cameroon. There has been an alarming rise in documented cases of sexual exploitation, violence, and abuse against women and young girls in the country. Survivors of sexual violence face significant consequences, including emotional and physical scars, mental health conditions, exposure to incurable diseases, unintended pregnancies, and deteriorating mental well-being. Fear of stigma and isolation often prevents survivors from speaking out, worsening their mental anguish and increasing the risk of suicidal tendencies. To address the gap in psychological support for survivors, Safe Haven offers comprehensive resources. They provide offline programs like mentor-mentee counseling and peer support, creating a nurturing environment for healing.
