"Safe-routes.org" is a social entrepreneurship project and consists of a software system that can ensure the safety of women on the streets, workplaces, and other public catering facilities, based on the initiative of a group of young leaders. By creating this platform ( mobile applications and website ) called “Safe-Routes.org”, we aim to ensure that, first, women, and later step LGBTQ+, who are victims of such harassment are able to inform other people who are traveling in that location by reporting these cases on our platform. Once reports are received, they will publicly visible (anonymously, out of safety considerations), meaning that all people using the maps will be able to open the map and check the safety level of the relevant street or of their complete route. This will reduce the possibility of being harassed to a great extent. Our AI-based mobile application is able to determine the safest route to the individual's desired destination by updating the data in real-time, thanks to the fact that individuals who have experienced sexual harassment report those incidents on the site. So women can reach their destination safely. The data they transmit to us is monitored by our team and sent to the state authorities we cooperate with and results in steps such as setting up temporary police posts on the streets where the danger is increasing, placing street cameras, or providing street lights to poorly lit streets. One of the other goals of the mobile application is to publicize the facts of sexual harassment and violence in today's life using the crowdsourcing method.
