SAFRICOPE, S.A.U.

SAFRICOPE was founded at the port of Marín, Pontevedra, in 1969. Initially, it was incorporated as a “Fishing Cooperative of the Brotherhood of Fishermen of Santa María del Puerto de Marín”. It is the first cold storage facility at the port and is there to meet the demand for cold storage services from shipping companies and customers trading in frozen products. Since its incorporation, SAFRICOPE has carried on its business in Spain and abroad, focusing particularly on quality and service as a supplier of raw materials. Today, Safricope distributes fish, seafood and cephalopods and also has its own fish marketing brand: Safrimar. It is currently part of a group of companies, GRUPO PESMAR, whose parent company is PESQUERIAS MARINENSES, S.A., a shipping company with a fleet of four freezer trawlers working in the North and South Atlantic fishing grounds.
