Sahodaran was founded in 1996 and registered in 2002. We are a Community Based Organization founded by Sunil Menon, south India's first openly gay activist working for transgender and LGBIQA+ people's rights for decades. Sahodaran serves the transgender and LGBIQA+ communities, working towards their better health, social inclusion, policy changes, family and spousal inclusion, financial independence, education and moral support, counseling, harm reduction, sexually transmitted infections and HIV prevention and care, networking with other local, regional, national and international organizations etc.,

Our General Manager Jaya was taken on International Visitors' Leadership Program to visit The White House and other LGBTQIA organizations in the US by the US Government.

We worked for the Greater Chennai Corporation for the COVID19 prevention, awareness and control project from May 19 to mid September giving face masks, giving information about personal and community care, safety and prevention of COVID19 and to offer testing and referrals for care.
