Saikat is a community organizer, political strategist, and former tech professional running for Congress to bring bold, future-focused leadership to the Democratic Party.
After starting his career in San Francisco’s tech sector, Saikat joined Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign and went on to help recruit and elect a new generation of leaders—including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, where he served as her first Chief of Staff in Congress.
During his time in Washington, Saikat played a key role in launching the Green New Deal, a visionary plan that helped lay the foundation for the largest climate investment in American history. He has consistently championed policies that prioritize working families, environmental justice, and a more inclusive, accountable democracy.
Saikat is now leading a campaign to reimagine what Democratic leadership can look like—one rooted in integrity, urgency, and the courage to take on corporate power and status quo politics. He’s building a grassroots movement to deliver real progress on climate, housing, healthcare, and democratic reform.
