Sail for Reefs

Sail for Reefs aims to provide a bridge between water-based sports and the conservation of marine resources, mainly coral reefs, through education, interaction with the ocean and habitat restoration work. Sail for Reefs was born as an innovative way to foster the love for the ocean in order to learn about marine resources and implement coral reef restoration efforts. We seek to transform every participant into an ocean ambassador. In order to conserve coral reefs, you first need to know about them and care for them. 85% of Puerto Ricans do not know how to swim and fear the ocean. We are using sailing as a tool to provide access to the ocean from a safe platform, in order to eliminate the fear of the ocean and learn about the importance of coral reefs and marine habitats. We are 501c3 and 1101.01 (PR) tax exempt organization.
