Salt + Light is a nonprofit on a mission to restore hope and rebuild lives by creating a neighborhood where everyone belongs. Founded in 2019, what began as a small movement of neighbors helping neighbors has grown into a transformative community built on trust, dignity, and shared hope.
At the heart of our work is The Neighborhood Village—California’s first of its kind. More than housing, it's a place of permanence, healing, and connection for individuals who have experienced homelessness. We walk alongside our neighbors through a holistic approach that includes relationship-building, mentorship, advocacy, and practical resources.
We believe real change happens in community. By fostering belonging and restoring agency, we empower people to move from crisis to stability—and we're here for the long haul.
