Samba Swirl

Samba Swirl was a leading frozen yogurt chain in the UK (2011-16). It introduced the first self service store in the UK in 2011, raising the quality and choice with 30+ flavours rotated daily and 50+ toppings. Samba was founded on the Northcote Road in Battersea in 2010, with the first parlour opening in April 2011. A second shop opened at Islington Green in August 2011 and a third opened on Turnham Green Terrace in Chiswick in April 2012. A rebranded flagship store opened on Jamestown Road in Camden in September 2013 as the business model was diversified out into crepes, hot drinks and juices. The founders closed down the chain in January 2016 after 5 years of trade due to a combination of changing consumer taste trends (sugar, not fat being the new dietary concern), and the increasingly tough high street retail environment in the UK.
