Our Vision: Ecologically sustainable, self-reliant and Empowered Society We're a civic society organization, on a mission to empower marginalized communities, particularly women and children, by addressing a spectrum of development challenges. With a legacy of 31 years, our focus on "Reaching the Unreached" has fueled transformation interventions in health, agriculture, livelihood, climate change, indigenous healthcare, social accountability, poverty, and disaster relief. Since 1992, we've positively impacted lives across 17 districts in Odisha, primarily focusing on tribal populations, especially women and children. Our pioneering work in livelihood sustainability, encompassing natural resources management, water resources, agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, reflects our commitment to holistic development. Sambandh places a strong emphasis on nutritional and food security, intertwining health, food, agriculture, environment, and governance. Our holistic approach, with a nutrition lens in all aspects, uplifts the nutritional status of communities. Recognizing the interconnectedness of soil, water, and animals with nutrition, we lead efforts to ensure soil nutritional repletion. At the forefront of reviving traditional healthcare practices, we actively combat climate change through the adoption of clean energy like solar and biomass. Our initiatives strengthen sustainable livelihoods, enhance productivity and income, and extend benefits from education to health through renewable energy, reducing dependence on conventional sources. Empowering local government institutions and fostering civic engagement are core to our work. We actively monitor poverty alleviation schemes and public expenditure, ensuring efficient delivery of public services and protection of gender equality.
