Santan Batubara

PT Santan Batubara (SB) is an equally joint venture mining concession between PT Petrosea Tbk and PT Harum Energy Tbk (HRUM). SB holds coal mining rights until 2038 unders its third generation Coal Contract of Work (CCOW) at its 24,930 hectare concession area in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. SBB commenced its coal production in April 2009. As of 1 January 2011 SBB has a reserve of 17,3 Million tons and resource of 61,5 Million tons. SB produces bituminous coal and has relatively low ash content, thereby reducing disposal costs and providing a more environmentally friendly energy source than low rank or sub-bituminous coal. The low hydrogen and oxygen content of Santan Batubara’s coal appeals to international customers seeking a cleaner-burning coal, principally for power generation.
