Santuaai

Santuaai was founded in 2015 as an auxiliary response to alarming rates of illegal wildlife trade in Mexico, as well as a ban on exotic animals performing in circuses with no concrete policies regarding their future. Santuaai proposes to build and sustain the first wildlife sanctuary in Mexico following proven international models. Our central mission being to rescue and rehabilitate these animals, alleviating their suffering and ensuring an improved quality of life. We aim to reflect a best of class approach towards wildlife care and rehabilitation, and will be open to the public, with the overarching goal to instigate a new culture of respect and care towards wildlife. The organization compromises a small but incredibly passionate team of specialists, ranging from ethologists, veterinarians, financial advisers, and influential stakeholders experienced in leading new businesses and generating fundraising opportunities. Along our journey we have developed invaluable partnerships with wildlife sanctuaries worldwide who have helped guide the advancement of the project, ensuring we take the right steps to springboard our project and safeguard our mission. Already gaining traction as an active member of the Mexican wildlife response community, Santuaai has supported and led the rescue and rehabilitation of exotic animals, including lions, tigers, and bears. Unfortunately, the scope of our involvement with the vast amounts of animals victims of the illegal trade in Mexico is limited - until we have the funds to build the sanctuary. Santuaai has recently signed to acquire the land necessary to house the sanctuary, 20 hectares in the optimal location of Queretaro, Mexico. We are at a critical phase working towards raising the funds necessary to finish the sanctuary so that we may continue our efforts in animal rescue and rehabilitation and provide these animals with a permanent home to retire to.
