Saphira Fund

The Saphira Fund is a small family fund inspired by a commitment to empathize, connect and act for peace and justice, no matter the distance between us. We support organizations working at the front lines internationally to promote sustainable peace and psychosocial healing from violence. Our approach seeks to engage in trauma-informed, trust-based philanthropy which centers the expertise of proximate actors, and acknowledges both the power hierarchies and mutual benefit of funding relationships. We also seek to ensure that our work is impactful within the ecosystem of peacebuilding and anti-violence funding and, to this end, we engage deeply in learning to inform our giving. Our relationships with movement partners will aim to respect knowledge, foster organizational wellbeing, offer transparency in decision making and limit the administrative burden on organizations.
