Society of Aircraft Performance and Operations Engineers (SAPOE)

SAPOE is the Society of Aircraft Performance and Operations Engineers. We are a professional organization made up of engineers and pilots who are engaged in airplane performance work for airlines, manufacturers, and government agencies worldwide. We serve to enhance safety for the traveling public, and to enhance efficiency for the airlines and manufacturers who employ us. It is our firm belief that in this time of rapid technology change in the aviation industry, and of changing regulatory environments, it is increasingly important for the industry to have well-trained and well-supported performance and operations engineers. We are a young organization, having at present approximately 350 members, and growing at a steady rate. As we become better known and gain in size and stature, it is our goal to become an organization that can serve as a major resource for performance and operations engineers, and a standard for the profession. SAPOE members benefit with participation through:  Information sharing.  The education of others in the nature of our work highlighting the importance of our duties and responsibilities.  The ability to speak with a single voice on issues that impact our areas of responsibilities.  The opportunity to discuss items relating to aircraft performance and weight balance in a detailed manner.  The creation of networking opportunities for personal growth.  Fun.
