The Sarara Foundation

Sarara is a flagship, community-owned and community-driven conservation initiative in Northern Kenya. As an indigenous community in Northern Kenya, we are the custodians of some of the largest remaining wilderness left in Africa, including many key endangered species. We have a 20 year vision for creating sustainability within our community where we: - thrive alongside wildlife - are supported by a robust, poverty-free local economy - have the tools and systems to manage and mitigate climate change For The Sarara Foundation’s vision to be fully realised, we believe that we must execute our work over a full 20 year generation cycle. Through this model, we hope to develop an open source blueprint for community conservation around the world.
