SARNSARD

SARNSARD is a Thai-woven craft based design studio, under Craft The Future co.,ltd., was founded in 2019 by Visrut & Manatsanun Taweevorasuwan, who fascinating in local wisdom crafts, blending heritage and valuableness to life, and presented it to the world. Over a century, there is a life interconnectedness between nature and muslim, called “Pandanus”, a palm family coastal plant with several distinctive characteristics. Cultural inheritance is transformed into their daily life and ceremonial things such as ‘Cher’(basketry) for keeping paddy rice and dried foods, ‘Sard’(mat) for religious activity, and ‘Mukya’- a tobacco pouch. We reconstructed a local muslim woman team to educate them to be an artisan model in “Ban To Ban”, a small community without appearing in a map, situated at Trang, Southern of Thailand.
