About Sartor
Sartor Capital (“Sartor”) is a Search Fund formed by Fernando Candia to identify, acquire and operate an existing private company in Mexico with an initial enterprise value between USD$10 and USD$30 million. Acquisition candidates will include companies where the owner is looking to transition from day-to-day operations, has no succession plan, is unwilling to scale the business, and/or is looking for a liquidity event for personal reasons. The purpose of the Search Fund is to provide investors with the opportunity to participate in the staged financing of the search for and acquisition of an existing private company. Search funds have been in existence since 1984 and have been structured to mitigate many of the risks associated with purchasing a small business. To date, more than 500 Search Funds have been raised globally, primarily in the US and Canada, followed by Spain and Mexico. The aggregate pre-tax internal rate of return of the Search Fund asset class through year-end 2022 is 32.2% and an average multiple on invested capital of 4.77x, considering data from both Stanford and IESE Search Fund Studies.
