In November 2007, SASE National - The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers was founded to help Asian heritage scientific and engineering professionals achieve their full potential. Organizations existed for other affinity groups - The National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers – and there was a need for a similar organization where students representing all of the pan Asian cultures could connect and support each other.
Then, In July 2020, SASE at OSU is formed and has become an officially recognized chapter on campus. Oregon State chapter supports its members’ career pursuits in every possible way, from deciding their major field of study to becoming competitive individuals for employment. Members also practice leadership skills through organizing community service projects and serving as mentors and role models for other students.
SASE at OSU celebrate diversity and promote inclusion on campus and at the workplace, as all SASE chapters throughout the United States, and welcomes individuals of all ethnic backgrounds.
