Hi! I'm Shannon Shea (aka The Sassy Social Worker). I help adult children deal with the challenges of caring for an aging parent. My dad passed away in July 2021 after living with Parkinson’s Disease for nearly two decades. As his physical challenges grew, so did our bond—and the responsibilities that came with caregiving. Caregiving is a journey that’s both meaningful and messy. It's filled with love, frustration, responsibility, and the constant tug-of-war between caring for someone else and trying to hold on to your own life. That experience led me to create something I wish I’d had—a course for adults caring for aging parents, especially when those parents aren’t always easy to care for. The course is designed to help you better understand what your parent may be going through—both physically and mentally—and to give you tools and support to show up for them without losing yourself in the process.
