SAUD Program

Philosophy, aim, and importance of the Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design (SAUD) program: The aim of this program is driven by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the importance of creating sustainable cities and communities. The program comprises all the architecture requirements as one of the specifications in the engineering and art sectors. The Sustainable Architecture and Urban Design (SAUD) program at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University, aims to: • Prepare architects with basic engineering and art knowledge, specializing in architecture and urban sciences, focusing on sustainable architecture and urban design. • Enable students to conceive sustainable architecture and urbanism concepts and designs. • Promote design creativity and innovation by studying the relationship between societies, buildings, urbanism, and the environment. • Equip students with technological tools to serve professional market needs. • Explore complex architectural and urban challenges, focusing on sustainable architecture and urbanism. • Expose students to interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary studies related to the field of specialization. The Program Mission: The program aims to prepare a creative and distinguished architect specializing in sustainable and urban design, aware of building sciences and related architectural and urban studies. It also aims to prepare an architect who uses the latest technologies that match the current market needs, is committed to good behavior and professional ethics, and is willing to contribute to the country's sustainable development. The Program Vision: It introduces advanced educational services linked to Egypt’s vision. It is part of the current efforts of developing architectural and urban education to contribute to the sustainable development goals in Egypt.
