Student Bar Association ('SBA'), NLSIU

NLS Bangalore is India's premier University for legal studies and research sponsored by the Bar Council of India and established under the Karnataka Act 22 of 1986. NLSIU offers undergraduates a five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. At the postgraduate level, NLSIU offers both coursework and research degrees. The LL.M. is a one-year coursework degree. The Master's in Public Policy (MPP) is a recently introduced two-year degree. The M.Phil., LL.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees, all aim at producing leading research scholars in all forms of legal academic pursuit, from legal history to jurisprudence. The Law School also offers through its Distance Education Department a Master’s Degree programme in Business Laws, and Post-Graduate Diploma programmes in Human Rights Law, Environmental Law, Medical Law and Ethics, Intellectual Property Law and Child Rights Law. NLSIU has been ranked as the top law institute in the country for several years, and has been named the best law school in the NIRF University Rankings for three years in a row!
