Welcome to SBHRA on LinkedIn! We are an HR professional membership association located in Santa Barbara, centered on advancing the HR profession through education, advocacy, and networking. We provide the best local source of networking events and expert resources for HR professionals and business leaders focused on addressing today's business challenges. Our events are open to the public and may offer credits to maintain HR certification credentials. We offer additional resources and support through our Chapter affiliation with national SHRM. We work hard to offer robust, high-quality programming that suits a variety of interest and educational need on behalf of the HR professional. We are a SHRM Preferred Provider of SHRM PDCs and HRCI Approved Provider of HRCI recertification credit. We encourage networking among members to foster relationships and share best practices. We also serve as an advocacy resource to HR practitioners, the employers they represent, and the greater business community at large. Our leadership team, comprised of inspired, volunteer business leaders from local organizations, is dedicated to supporting the HR profession and bringing value to Association members. Considered a medium-sized Chapter of SHRM, SBHRA has 140 members representing a wide variety of organizations, primarily within Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. Our HR professional members practice their craft within the following nine HR competencies: - Communication - Relationship management - Ethical practice - HR expertise - Business acumen - Critical evaluation - Global & cultural effectiveness - Leadership navigation - Consultation SBHRA supports SHRM Student Chapter 5614 on the campus of UCSB Santa Barbara, known as the 'HR Club' on campus.
