The South Central AIDS Education & Training Center (SCAETC) is a member of a National AIDS Education and Training Center network of eight regional and two national centers, covering all 50 states as well as US Territories and Jurisdictions. Funding is provided by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau through the Ryan White Program, Part F.
Services are provided via a network of our Regional Partner Sites that provide services on local and regional levels. The South Central AETC serves the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas through its central office and local partners.
Each local partner site has its own qualified faculty, programs, and activities designed to meet the needs of their local region or state. Our partners are based at academic medical centers or community-based organizations, with access to highly qualified HIV specialists.
Mission Statement: The South Central AETC works to ensure that all people in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and the tribal nations therein have access to best practices for screening, prevention, and treatment of HIV, and will reduce disparities in HIV care, thereby improving the quality of life for persons living with or at risk for HIV.
