SCAS provides a method of determining the functional condition of a device at the earliest stage of triage – ‘Charging’. SCAS simultaneously charges a device while identifying wave-forms that are symptomatic of specific fail states.
SCAS interprets wave-forms for Instant current, Instant voltage, integrated and accumulated capacity and Instant power consumption.
By applying algorithms to these wave-forms and comparing them to a library of defined wave-forms we determine the functional condition of the connected device.
Absolute values are considered as are events and the timing of those events - for example a current peak or a voltage glitch at a specific time.
These conditions and values are not random and indicate specific characteristics of a device’s health.
For example, a missing peak could indicate a faulty RF module depending on the phone model.
