Sichuan Highway Planning, Survey, Design and Research Institute Ltd

Sichuan highway design and research institute (SCHDRI) was found at 1953, which is a comprehensive top class institute focusing on highway design and research with consult certificate of survey, design, inspection, consulting, construction administration and environmental assessment etc. There are 1500 employees work for the institute, including a national level designer, 6 provincial level designers and 22 experts. Sichuan highway design and research institute plays an important role in the field of survey, design, consulting, research, construction administration, environmental assessment, earth work for all kinds highway, road, bridge, tunnel and industry & residential building. SCHDRI has complete the design and consult work for 50,000 km highway, (4000 highway), 200 bridges, 100 tunnels. About 180 awards are achieved, such as 1st prize of national technical award, gold medal of national excellent design award and Zhan Tianyou civil engineering award etc. SCHDRI has pass the ISO9001 international certificate check, as well got the “excellent management organization”, “Sichuan excellent institute”, “Sichuan excellent organization” and “Chinese excellent organization” etc. The bridge design branch has got the award as “excellent design team”. After the earthquake of Wenchua 2008, SCHDRI has send out 80 teams about 1250 employee to the EQ area to help the local people. They have travel 30,000 km and walked about 1,000 km to find out the situation and got tons of useful information and materials, which is necessary for emergency rescue and road rebuild. SCHDRI has change the name as “Sichuan highway design and research institute of ministry of transportation” by the document (Sichuan doc. [2010]514) on July 29, 2010, and converted into an enterprise with its new name "Sichuan Highway Planning, Survey, Design and Research Institute Ltd" in March, 2019.
