South Carolina Health Information Exchange (SCHIEx)

SCHIEx enables providers across South Carolina to view the patient information they need to make well-informed decisions. By providing real-time access to life-saving data, SCHIEx (pronounced SKY-eks) is improving the quality, safety and efficiency of health care delivery in our state. Technically speaking, SCHIEx (which stands for South Carolina Health Information Exchange) is an innovative statewide information highway that allows participating health care providers to view a patient’s medical history, including medications, diagnoses and procedures. It is not a data warehouse, but a secure network, where providers use certified technology to share the information they need for better outcomes.
