Schmitz Manufacturing Research & Technology, LLC, (SMRT) was founded in 2020 as an independent advanced manufacturing consultancy, Our mission is to advise and accelerate the rapid technological development of advanced manufacturing solutions in support of the US Manufacturing and Machine Tool Industry. SMRT partners with manufacturing experts to address a spectrum of manufacturing research. These experts have held leadership positions at top-ranked research universities and national laboratories. They have been elected to numerous national and international professional and academic societies, served on editorial boards of academic and technical journals serving the manufacturing industry, and have stood up significant strategic initiatives across industry and within the U.S. Government.
