SEM : Science et Médecine est une société issue des Laboratoires Flandres à Nancy qui prend son indépendance dans les années 1970 en développant plusieurs gammes de prothèses de hanche.
En 1996, SEM installe son siège social à Montrouge et crée une unité de production à Créteil afin d’assurer son indépendance vis-à-vis de la sous-traitance et d’exercer un meilleur contrôle sur la fabrication et la qualité de ses produits.
Depuis 1970 SEM est contrôlé par le même groupe familial.
