Scion Plasma LLC is a startup company spun out from Michigan State University (MSU), East Lansing, Michigan. We are partnered with leading institutes and vacuum companies to provide advanced plasma sources and plasma modeling software for materials processing.
In collaboration with MSU and Fraunhofer USA, Scion Plasma LLC has developed innovative single beam ion sources for producing high-quality thin films. The new ion sources possess a few unique features that overcome the limitations of conventional ion sources.
Our plasma modeling software is based on efficient algorithms and is >30 times faster than the current particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo schemes. Modeling a low-pressure magnetized plasma in a practical scale can be completed in less than 24 hours on a desktop computer.
