About SCMHRD Samatva

Samatva, the ISR cell of SCMHRD, has been a pioneer in creating social impact since its inception in 2008. The cell collaborates with corporates and NGOs to foster awareness and drive meaningful change. With a focus on education, environment, mental health, and community well-being, Samatva organizes the following key initiatives: • Inspirit: A year-long evening tutorial program for over 100+ underprivileged students from classes five to ten (Marathi, semi-English, and English medium schools), focusing on quality education, moral values, and personality development. • Joy of Giving: Held during Christmas, this initiative unites the SCMHRD community to fulfill the wishes of Inspirit children by gifting their desired presents, spreading joy and happiness. • Vrikshak: A tree plantation drive involving committee members and faculty to promote environmental sustainability and contribute to nature conservation. • Cleanliness Drive: In alignment with the Swachhata Pakhwada campaign, this drive mobilizes committee members and student volunteers to clean designated areas around the college, fostering civic responsibility and cleanliness. • Mental Health Week: A 3–4-day event promoting mental well-being through a session with a mental health expert for students, gratitude cards for faculty and peers, singing or poetry for faculty appreciation, and Zumba and a movie screening for Inspirit children. Through these initiatives, Samatva empowers underprivileged communities, raises awareness about environmental and mental health issues, and nurtures a culture of giving back, leaving a lasting impression on individuals and society.
