About Us: STEM Collaboration for Outreach, Progress, and Engagement (SCOPE) is a student-led initiative at the University of Toronto Mississauga that connects STEM students, faculty, and industry professionals. Our mission is to create an interconnected STEM community that fosters career exploration, mentorship, and professional development beyond academics. What We Do: At SCOPE, we work to bridge the gap between academic learning and career opportunities for students in STEM. We offer: Mentorship Programs: Connecting students with upper-year peers, faculty, and industry professionals for career guidance and support. Career Events: Hosting speaker events featuring experts in STEM, from professors to industry professionals, sharing insights and career journeys. Workshops & Networking: Providing practical sessions on resume building, graduate school applications, and research opportunities. We also host networking mixers to promote collaboration across STEM disciplines. Industry Connections: Partnering with companies and organizations to help students navigate the internship and job application process. Our Goals: - Expand career awareness and options for STEM students. - Provide valuable networking opportunities and professional connections. - Break down barriers between faculties to create a more inclusive and supportive STEM environment at U of T.
