I have been involved in the saddle industry for over 40 years, and have been
manufacturing saddles for over 20 plus. My wife, Amie Thomas, and I have been working together for over 14 years, and we recently decided to pursue our dreams of owning and managing our own saddle business. With the
help of our two daughters, Gracie Sue and Charlye Elise, we are proud of our family owned business and excited for the future.
I started working with saddles at an early age with my father and mother managing a major saddle manufacturing company and western retail store. They taught me a tremendous amount about this industry as well as running a business. I also grew up on a cattle ranch and competed in rodeos in
calf roping and team roping. I am a World Champion in National Little Britches Rodeo and went on to rodeo in High School, College, and PRCA. After graduating from Colorado State University, I worked for Dale Martin and learned the art of building saddles.
I have worked with many major saddle companies, world champions, horse clinicians, endorsees, saddle makers, and saddle experts to gain the knowledge that we have today to offer my line of saddles for the first time.
We are excited to have the opportunity to build high quality, hand crafted saddles at a competitive price in a timely manner. All of Scott Thomas Custom saddles are built using the finest of materials, using Hermann
Oak Leather tanned in the USA, stainless steel hardware, and saddle trees that I have designed over the years, which I feel offer the best fit and function. My saddle trees come with a 10-year warranty. I also offer some upgraded saddle trees with a lifetime warranty. All of my saddle trees have been tested, ridden,
and modified to ensure that my fit is the best available. My saddles are handmade, hand cut, hand tooled, and hand finished to produce a
true custom handmade saddle.
