Originating from the Scottish Hebridean Island of Skye, and the once bustling fishing village and ferry port of Kyleakin, George Nisbett, founder and Managing Director of Scotvax, started his aquaculture company in 2007.
With his heritage and background in the fishing and salmon farming industry, having worked at sea on local fishing boats, and for local salmon fish farms, George has been immersed in this industry his whole life. Aquaculture is George’s passion. Scotvax was founded through the natural progression of George’s passion and Island life.
With George at the helm, the company developed globally over the years, but still maintains its roots and values on the Island and fish farming ways of life. Many of the Scotvax employees originate from the Hebridean Islands, all with strong family connections for generations in the fishing and salmon industries.
This environment and background, with our exceptional knowledge, combined with our many years of hands-on global experience, and life-long passion of the industry, has created one of the world’s leading fish vaccinating and aquaculture business specialists.
