The School of Computer Science & Information Technology (SCSIT), was established in 1986 with funding from UGC for MCA program. Later, the School started M.Sc. (Computer Science) in 1987 with 2 crore funding from DRDO. Also, M.Tech (Computer Science) program was started in 1992 approved by AICTE. M.Tech (Network Management & Information Security) and M.Tech (Information Architecture & Software Engineering) were started in 2009 approved by AICTE. Since 2019, the School is offering M.Tech executive (Computer Science) 2 years program for working professionals. Keeping in view the social needs in the area of information technology, the School is also running MBA (Computer Management), M.Sc. (Information Technology), PGDCA and BCA programs on self supported basis. The School is running Ph.D (Computer Science) program in a variety of domains, which offers to carry out research in diversified domains with various scholarships and funding schemes. Also, the School has started M.Sc. (Cyber Security) 5 year Integrated program in 2024. The School since then has endeavoured into promoting technical education and research in important and fast growing branches of Computer Science and Information Technology. The School has highly experienced faculty members, modern laboratories and building infrastructure equipped with ICT and digital library. Our teaching learning process focuses on the enrichment of analytical and technical skills, problem solving, communication skills and human values of students.Theory is complemented by practicals and projects. Most of the projects are carried out for local entrepreneurs in a team, which enable the team building spirits among students and prepare them for working in cross-cultural environments. Our M.Tech students undertake projects from several reputed organizations such as, RR-CAT Indore, ICAR-Indian Institute of Soybean Research, DRDO, NTPC, C-DAC, ST Microelectronics, ISRO etc., and private software companies.
