Ida Scudder School was started on the initiative of faculty of CMC, Vellore who felt the need for good schooling in Vellore. It was inaugurated on 13th June 1969 with a preparatory class and standards 6 and 7. The first batch of students wrote ISC Examination in the year 1972, The Junior School classes were added in stages from the year 1974. The school,at present is a full fledged school with classes 1 to higher secondary primarily meant for children of staff of Christian Medical College, Vellore.
