Through its affiliates, the Company’s primary business is purchasing sub-performing and non-performing loans from financial institutions, including, but not limited to, insurance companies, community and regional banks, and governments. The Company’s specialty is acquiring loans which are in default for the purpose of either restructuring the debts to performing credits or to seek legal remedies to enforce the collection of the obligation, which may include, foreclosing on the loan’s collateral with the intent to immediately liquidate or hold for long-term appreciation. The Company is also involved in operating businesses, managing properties, real estate investing and development of industrial grade properties as a direct result of its primary business. The Company has elected, through its affiliated companies, to retain long-term ownership of the following types of properties and/or businesses to realize long-term appreciation in the asset’s underlying value. A) Garden Apartment Complexes; B) Neighborhood Shopping Centers; C) Industrial/Warehouse Buildings; D) Retirement Communities; E) Office Buildings; F) Parking Facilities; G) Residential Condominiums; and, H) Special Use Properties.
