SeaBioMat

The SeaBioMat project is investigating biosourced or biodegradable materials to replace unsustainable or polluting materials in the maritime sector. In the fishing, nautical equipment and port sectors, product ranges are currently polluting due to the release of microplastics when products or nets are worn or lost in the oceans. The aim of the SeaBioMat project is to demonstrate that biosourced and/or biodegradable polymers and fibers are suitable for these marine applications and have less impact on the marine environment and the environment in general than current fossil-based materials.
